Hai, First Tattoo

Apparently, I’m going nuts about finding the perfect tattoo parlor, not to mention the perfect artist.  My picky perspective rests upon several variables:

  1. Artist’s skill factor
  2. Artist’s personal creative style
  3. Artist’s ability to recreate a well-known piece of art
  4. Being able to partake in a memorable experience with a memorable artist
  5. Being able to maintain correlation for future visits

Basically, I don’t want just anyone to tattoo me.  I’m looking at online portfolios and searching for the pieces that pull at my heart strings.  I’m definitely paying attention to detail and original technique.  I’m also hoping to find an artist I can rely on and take pride in.

I’m taking careful consideration, as this tattoo will be on me for the rest of my life.  It’s overwhelming to think of, really.  But I have never been so ready to be liberated.

Oh, and how could I forget?  My tattoo design will be one of Van Gogh’s series of sunflowers. I have to do Vincent proud, as this is one of my favorite paintings by the glorious man.

Sunflowers

The composition will be without the background and the supporting table.

Sunflowers possess a very special meaning in my world.  The significance holds no story, but many recollections of a beautiful, beautiful love.
